A good photo, but the blur spoils the whole beauty

In search of photos about rain, I’ve run into a great picture, in my opinion, but with a big disadvantage. It has a beautiful composition and the colors are also great, but the thing that it is blurred spoils it all. At first I thought that the rain drops are in focus, which would have made it a real piece of art.

I didn’t include this photo in the ‘rain set‘ because I consider it unsuccessful, just of this little issue. I would like to know your opinion, where it should be considered a good photo, regarding it’s quality, or one should throw it dirrectly into the garbage can ?

Great composition indeed. This and the blur make me think that it’s a pure random. I am sure that Spio would love it tho.

But hey, maybe the blur forced you and me to see through it. Maybe if it was crisp and all we would have been totally unimpressed by it.

    Go figure…

you could have asked me why its blur - then discuss my photo elsewhere?

i have a thing for blur - and i see them as different interpretations of rain, why does rain always have to be shots of macro drops? images dont always have to be sharp - there is mood as well to be considered, and octavian had pointed out this would be totally unimpressive crisp

@visithra Well, I considered this work to be complete since you’ve posted it on the internet. Here I didn’t ask the question why it is blur, I just wanted to discuss the photo as it seemed to me an interesting example of the modern photography trends.

Human eye tends to concentrate on sharp objects in a photo and the blur elements just come as a compensation for the whole work. As there is no sharpness anywhere in the photo the eye keeps seeking for something and doesn’t stop still to see and enjoy the pic.

Sure the mood is great and the composition and stuff, but there are also other technical details worth taking into consideration for a successful picture.

This is just my opinion and of course I respect the author’s point of view. Also I wanted to find out other opinions on this issue, especially in nowadays photography.
