Photomatix software for generating beautiful HDR images

an example of HDR image

The picture above is an example of HDR photography. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range and it is a procedure that helps to generate photos with a luminance that is close to the one in the real world. In other words, if for example we take a picture from our room through the window. The light in our room differs form the light outside, especially if it is a sunny day, but our camera can be adjusted only for one scenario of light conditions. So, in the end we get either dark elements in the room and normal outdoor picture, or normal light indoors and overexposed outside view. To solve this problem, Photomatix comes with a great solution, an easy to install software that allows us to create HDR images and play with the image adjustments until the desired result achieved.

Note that in order to be able to create a HDR image, you must have al least three images taken at different exposures, to get all the elements in the photo shot at a proper luminance.

You can purchase it here or download a free trial version.

Here are a few examples of the effects that can be achieved using Photomatix.
